Defining Yourself: Is it Even Possible?
“Trying to define yourself is like trying to bite your own teeth.” ~ Alan Watts
This is true.
When you get down to particulars one can make a list of things you think are you, but does That really define you?
Primarily it is likes and dislikes. Do you prefer red wine over white wine? Intellectuals over pragmatists? Are you a minimalist? Or do you like a lot of “stuff?”
When you look in the mirror who do you see….actually??
A concept?
Thought and our emotional body plays itself out according to dictates of our environment…..past and present and future though the future has not happened.
Self-awareness occurs through observation.
What do we observe about ourselves?
How far do we take this self-awareness?
